  • Introduction

    This research intends to do a detailed study on the use of digital technological resources in the distance music learning process. This study focuses on the bachelor's degree in distance music from the University of Brasilia. This justification is based on several questions, such as: 1) The real impact of the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning processes of distance music is not known; 2) The specific software of musical instruction still lack a more detailed assessment regarding its efficiency; 3) The applicability of programs developed for musical applications still needs to be investigated regarding the specific field of music education; 4) It is verified a scarcity of researches regarding the effectiveness of the use of digital technology in distance music teaching, both instruments and disciplines of the theoretical field; 5) New digital technologies such as 3-D environments are used in several areas of knowledge, but there are no researches on the use of these in music teaching. The specific objectives of the project are: i) to evaluate the impact of the use of digital technologies in the teaching and learning processes of distance music; II) Conduct a detailed analysis of the effectiveness of the use of specific music instruction softwares; III) Verify the applicability of music programs not developed specifically for music education, and IV) investigate the feasibility of employing 3-D technologies in music teaching. The theoretical Foundation is based on a bibliographic review that is founded on authors such as: Rudolph (2005) and Peters and Eddins (2000) who try to categorize computational programs developed specifically for musical learning. Fritsch et al (2003) Classify these softwares depending on their applicability. Masutti and Néspoli (2010) recently presented a research communication in which they propose such.
